Washington – Thanks to the decisive leadership of President Trump and his administration, certain dietary supplement and dietary ingredients have been excluded from the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) announcement on April 2nd. The Natural Products Association (NPA) is deeply appreciative of the administration’s efforts, which followed productive discussions with key officials in the weeks leading up to this announcement.
We are grateful to President Trump and his team for recognizing the critical importance of maintaining a strong supply chain for this industry, which supports American manufacturing and promotes public health. The administration’s commitment to ensuring a stable, cost-effective supply of these materials aligns perfectly with the mission of Making America Healthy Again. While not all ingredients were exempted, NPA is confident in the Trump administration’s continued support and looks forward to working together to achieve the best possible outcomes for the millions of Americans who rely on supplements daily for their health and wellness.
“We are truly thankful for President Trump’s thoughtful and industry-focused approach throughout the tariff process,” said Daniel Fabricant Ph.D., president and CEO of NPA. “His administration’s willingness to listen and act on our concerns is a testament to their dedication to both public health and economic stability. We are excited to continue collaborating with this administration to prevent any supply chain disruptions and to explore innovative solutions, like reshoring, that will strengthen our industry and create American jobs—priorities that reflect the President’s vision for our great nation.”
NPA is eager to maintain this strong partnership with the Trump administration and all stakeholders to highlight the value of these materials and advocate for policies that bolster a competitive industry while protecting public well-being.
