Douglas Kalman, Ph.D., Joins NPA to Support Advocacy and Regulatory Agenda
WASHINGTON – The Natural Products Association (NPA) today announced that Douglas Kalman, Ph.D, RD will be the organization’s new scientific advisor – as its Senior Vice President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs. Kalman has worked in and with nutrition, clinical nutrition and dietary supplements industries throughout his career. From leading teaching hospitals, to clinical research organizations, Kalman has made an impression within the industry and within regulatory agencies. Kalman has been a science and nutrition specific advisor for many national and international organizations over the years. This includes service for American Society for Nutrition, American College of Sports Medicine, International Society of Sports Nutrition, National Strength & Conditioning Organization, American Physiological Society, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, along with such esteemed organizations such as the United States Tennis Association, United States Track and Field and others. He was most recently the Vice President of Scientific Affairs for Nutrasource and is currently on Faculty in the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University, in Florida.

Kalman received his undergraduate degree at Florida State University. He received his Master of Science at Hunter College and his Doctorate from Touro University International. He has been published widely in professional and academic literature throughout his career.
